History
Johnson Gage and Inspection (JGI) began in 1988 in Wichita, Kansas, in response to the need of many local aerospace companies for a reliable source for calibration services. JGI began by providing basic metrological calibrations and certifications and has steadily expanded its range of services.
After working closely with our customers to ensure that we understood their individual calibration needs and documentation requirements, Johnson Gage and Inspection added a line of electrical testing. Following that, we added services in the field of pyrometry to meet the growing need for the certification and inspection of thermal processing equipment. Shortly thereafter, the laser testing of surface plates, CMMs and CNCs was added to the list of calibration and certification services. Since then, we have provided training in materials inspection, pyrometry and other fields to many of our customers as well.
By expanding its services into other aspects of the aerospace manufacturing industry, such as pyrometry, surface plate relapping and certification, and the laser inspection of CMM's and CNC's, JGI's client base has continued to grow. The growth resulting from the diversification of services has made JGI a major calibration source for aerospace vendors and contractors in the area, with hundreds of customers throughout the Midwest and beyond.
In 2002 we were able to move into our present 8,900 square foot facility, located with easy access to the Wichita airport and freeway system.
Our metrological and pyrometric services have broadened considerably over the years, and we have been able to pass on to our customers the benefits of many recent technological advances. As quality requirements in the aerospace industry have changed and increased, we have functioned as an information resource to our customers as well.
We are please to announce that we have recently expanded our list of services yet again. Now, in addition to meeting the calibration and certification needs of our customers, we are able to meet their equipment and material supply needs with our Sales and Distribution Department. With years of experience with the machines, instruments and materials used by our customers, Johnson Gage and Inspection is perfectly suited to provide its customers with the equipment and products that best meet their needs.
